June 27th Boaters Report

6/27/2022

With Buzzards Bay filled with pogies and silversides there is no lack of fish. Capt. Chris Tankis on the vessel Skipjack said he managed to get into bluefish around 30 inches in lower Buzzards Bay on Saturday. "I thought I was hooked up to an Albie!" is what he said when I spoke to him. With bluefish this size cruising around the bay, expect the fights to be just like little tuna! Slot-sized bass are still feeding on pogie schools within the harbors of Buzzards Bay, with the potential of larger fish being there in the early morning. In Cape Cod Bay, stripers up to 50lbs are being caught off of Plymouth on large pogie schools. If you go out looking for the fish, you will often find them surrounded by the commercial fleets in the early days of the week. Tight lines everyone!
