Cape Cod Canal: Decent number of schoolie sized scattered throughout the canal. Some bigger bass are in the mix but in onesie, twosies. Bouncing the bottom has been the most effective way to target these solitary bigger fish moving in the canal. The big Tsunami 9", 4oz heavy shads, Savage Sand Eels and bucktails from Joebaggs and B&D have been flying off the pegs this weekend, from customers who are in search of the bigger fish.
Buzzards Bay: The west end of the canal was a hot scene Friday morning. The boat crowd could be seen working different pods of birds and fish just out of the west end. The bass have been chasing mackerel that have made their way all the way down canal and into buzzards bay. Seabass opened up this weekend. The bite wasn't crazy hot but if you put in a little bit of time you'll be able get your limit. Spro jigs in white and chartreuse have been the jig of choice here. Sweeten it up with a little squid to entice the tasty little critters. We also weighed in a 2lb scup on Saturday.
